Isabel Lesjak is a senior at James Madison High School in Vienna, VA. She plays for the Vienna Youth Soccer (VYS) '03 Phoenix travel soccer team as well as her high school varsity team. Isabel is also a U.S. Soccer certified soccer referee and enjoys snowboarding, tennis, walking her two dogs and stringing tennis racquets for trips to the coffee shop.
Isabel is an Ambassador in Vienna Girl Scout Troop 3439 and loves serving in her community. Her biggest personal achievement will be her Girl Scout Gold Award which she expects to attain in early 2021 as a result of this project.
Dr. Karp is a native of Washington State where he was an NCAA student-athlete. After experiencing multiple knee surgeries and his own rehab odyssey, he pursued a career in physical therapy to help others avoid a similar plight. Daniel finished his undergraduate studies with a major in Physical Education and minors in Biology and Psychology. Daniel earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy from Howard University in Washington, DC. He then went on to complete post-doctoral orthopedic residency training at Temple University.
Dr. Karp is a full-body certified Active Release Technique (ART) provider. Daniel has continued his education in Functional Dry Needling, Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS), Reflex Locomotion, Fascial Distortion Model (FDM), Functional Range Conditioning (FRC), Blood Flow Restriction (BFR), ELDOA, visceral manipulation (i.e., gastrointestinal disorders), and has experience with both Russian Kettlebell Challenge and StrongFirst kettlebell courses. He also has taken instructional courses on Olympic weightlifting and the ALTIS Performance Therapy Program to help with his physical therapy practice. Dr. Karp uses a variety of tools at his disposal to return individuals to optimal function.
Daniel is licensed to practice physical therapy in Virginia and the District of Columbia. He is also a member of the Sports and Orthopedic sections of the American Physical Therapy Association.
Dr. Jeffrey R. Giuliani is an orthopedic surgeon fellowship-trained and board certified in Sports Medicine. He specializes in all sports injuries of the hip, shoulder, and knee with a special interest in complex hip arthroscopy for labral repair and reconstruction, shoulder replacements, shoulder instability, rotator cuff procedures and knee ligament reconstruction. He joined Inova Medical Group with more than 15 years of clinical experience as a sports surgeon and Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army where he served as Chief of Sports and Shoulder Surgery at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD.
Dr. Giuliani completed his orthopaedic training at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington DC and completed a sports medicine fellowship at The United States Military Academy at West Point and at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York. In addition to serving as the Orthopaedic Consultant to the White House, he was also the Chief of Orthopaedics during two separate deployments to Afghanistan and the Middle East. He currently is a Team Physician for the Washington Nationals, Washington Spirit, XFL Defenders and Consultant to the Washington Football Team.
Dr. Giuliani’s interest in orthopedics developed from his own injuries sustained during sports. His goal is to bring his own experience with injuries from living an active lifestyle to the bedside of his patients. He wants patients to feel confident and comfortable that they are getting the best possible care for their orthopedic injuries in order to get them back to peak performance.

Avatus started as a trainer with Explosive Performance (1997) playing on the Junior USTA Little League Football and Lacrosse. Through his hard work with Explosive Performance, he earned All-Conference and Region accolades in Lacrosse, Football, and Track. In college, he continued as an athlete and worked as a Performance Coach in the summer and was an All-Conference linebacker and All-Conference in the 800 meter relay at Catholic University.
Avatus' sports background is not limited the field. When he was five years old, he began studying martial arts, achieved a black belt in American Karate and studied Tae Kwon Do and Kung Fu. He competed nationally for 12 years in various Mixed Martial Arts and Karate Tournaments in sparring, weapons and traditional forms. He was ranked by North American Sport Karate Association (NASKA) in 2004.
